why am i not having BMs? its got to be in there somewhere! Just air,blood and mucus have been passing for 2 weeks confused

first question...where is your UC located...limited or throughout?

When UC is limited in the rectum, be it either severe or mild, the messages to the colon get a tad slowed down. Different if the inflammation is higher (which includes the rectum), things tend to be more looser or diarrhea stool and is rushed out very quickly (actually making it easier to pass in the rectum.

So, I'm assuming you're meaning not formed stool?

How often are you going?

What meds are you on??

UP UNTIL 10 DAYS AGO, I WAS SYMPTOM FREE(AT LEAST I THOUGHT i WAS) it started with bright red blood,clots,mucus and urgency everytime i ate, was waking up at 3am to go,but just blood and very small lite brown chunks came out. now, even if i urinate , gas and blood come out,very bright red. i started on asacol...2...3 times a day, prednisone 40 mg 2 x a day, and am trying to wean slowly to just 40mg of prednisone a day, which isnt working out too well. i mentioned that i can NOT see my GI doc til 12/01/12 because if i get treatment for it prior to then, my aflac coverage will be pre existing, so thankfully i work in medical and can get the meds i need for it until then, i know, not good,but it is what it is...

the other problem i have is my dermo told me to NEVER take prednisone because i also have severe plantar and palmar psoriasis and steroids flare it up terribly,but i had to choose which was worse

i dont know where the UC was, only that from the rectum up about halfway was so damaged 10 years ago, i really have done well since other than constipation issues sometimes but i take opiates for a cervical disc issue and just thought that was the cause

Who in the world gave you a script for 80 mg a day! Did you start at 80 or worked your way up to that? How fast are you trying to taper right now?

not 80 mgs a day... 40 mgs a day...sorry
