UC Aches & Pains?

Hi you guys!! I have colitis and I was wondering if it can be giving me gas that makes me feel like I'm having a heart attack. Otherwise I've been having a heart attack for like 6 days now. Oh, I'm a 37-year-old female and so far without heard disease.

Actually, now that I think about it - let me ask even more:

Do you all get aches and pains in weird places when you're actively having colitis problems. My back and legs will hurt, etc. Just wondering.

Oh! I forgot - Asacol 2 pills 3 times/day. Asacol HD 800mg. Also iron and vitamin D and a multivitamin.

Well...you're right, it's not horrible, but I could definitely do better. I'll watch it through that lens for a few days and see if I notice a pattern - thanks!! I've never really had a problem with heartburn before - which is why I just assumed UC - but, thank you, that could certainly be the case.

Okay, I will definitely try the Tums. Also, okay, I sometimes get that too - where I just feel achy and sick, so I'm glad to just hear it from someone else. This is a good forum, it's nice to be able to ask people and talk about it. Thanks!!

It probably is gas.

I'm suffering with really bad arthritis right now (joint pains). At the moment I've only had a partial colectomy and the remaining rectum was still acting up. Both my GI and the rheumatologist said that IBD related arthritis typically acts up when you have active disease. Note that is not ALWAYS the case, but it is typically the case.

25% of people with IBD report joint issues. Most of the time the aches and pains don't cause damage like other types of arthritis.
