Quincy, Yes I have modified my diet and have been on it for a month. I have also been following the spinach and sunflower seed butter diet prior of which I am on my 2 month anniversary of doing with the exception for dropping the sunflower seed recently. I basically added this routine she talks about
in the video to my daily diet. It is not easy to do and requires you to be able to obviously handle these types of raw veggies and greens etc. If I was not doing so well from the spinach and sunflower seed diet I probobly wouldnt e able to do this diet as the DR explains. I have to constantly go to the store for fresh things as well as having my wife work with me on this as she eats this way but not as hard core as I am. I am thankfull I have her to help me as it does require alot money to buy these types of foods and as we all know food is expensive these days not to mention fresh greens only last so long in the fridge as well as fresh berries and fruit meats etc..
If I ever said that we all will be cured by this I was wrong but I truely beleive this is my only hope within my power to beat this. I truely beleive and research has proven the bodies capability to heal itself. I am just not sure as I am a layman as to how long with a condition like UC it would take or if it would ever be accomplished. I am just looking at how our bodies work and basically back tracking and starting at the core of our bodies and how it functions. Simply put if we feed it what it needs which is alot more than what most of us think we need it can heal starting at the cellular level and possibly restting our immune systems.
Gary all your points are well taken but you cant assume that just because someone is selling something that the data they present is not accurate. I think that is important to use all information that is available and to dismiss something that is valuable information is foolish.
Journey, to say never I think is just wrong. Maybe we dont know that it will but until you try and take the time which maybe be years how can yo say never? After all that Dr did with a known autoimmune disease. So I am an very optimistic and wont say never. I beleive most of the disease that afflic people these days are autoimmune related disease as they are finding more and more.
I am on all your sides and want to beat this and in the mean time give back to this forum as much as I have taken from it in the last year. I took the time to put out somthing that I though was worthwhile and noteworthy. If I didn't provide the best of information in the links then I am sorry but I think my point was taken. I also may have used some bad examples like the refugees and others that may not of been
the best of choices. I also never meant to insult as one suggests as I know that we all have difficult lives here with this and work very hard to eat properly and find our own solutions to this disease.
I myself have made some really grerat progress in the time I have been changing my diet. I started this disease taking 2 asacol HD 800 twice a day and canasa as needed and in the begining it was often that I had to use the canasa. It has been one year later and I am not only off the asacol completely since early last summer but only need to take canasa twice a week. I think this is a considerable accomplishment. I am not completely healed by no means and have a long way to go. I experimented last week and didnt take my canasa for a week and saw some small signs of puss and blood. I went back on my canasa and am back on it again every 3rd day which is just about twice a week. This seems to be where I leveled off at. I have been on the DR diet for over 3 weeks and hope in time and the key word here consistancy I can be rid of all meds. That is my goal as well as I am sure all of yours.
I plan on doing more research on this and the cellular level and the aspects of healing. I will try to provide the best info going forward and hope some of you can find it useful and helpful.
I want to wish you all and your families the best this Holiday season.
Steve
