I had my scope done last Monday and results were inflammation in the rectum. the left side that usually is also effected looks good. Dr put me on canasa suppositories which help,but what I experience is after my bms I am in so much lingering pain....dr saiid it's probably pain radiating up from the rectum giving me trouble, since the mucosa looks normal. The past 2 days the pain is so bad. I take bentyl and ttamadol which gets rid of it, but it takes hours to go away.

I just don't understand hoe my body is reacting. I just want to feel better.

He said I no longer need the cort enemas or steroids. I'll be on canasa suppositories for 2 months....I haven't tried this drug before to know how long it takes to work or if it will.

Anyone else have these symptoms?

After my initial diagnosis I was put on Canasa suppositories indefinitely. They worked pretty quickly, got me into remission, and kept me that way for about 5-6 months. I did still have some pressure like pain when I first started them, but I always felt it was related to the illness and not the drug, and that pain was probably gone within a month.

So there is hope! I've been going thru so many different phases the past three months and I just hope to enjoy the holidays!

it is 5-asa, so slower than the cort enemas. you might ask to stay on cort enemas a little longer

Spoke with drs office...they said to take the tramadol and bentyl first when I wake up before my bms then take thru the day as needed but keep in my system to avoid the pain when I have my bms. I'm to call in a few days to see if its working . So far so good but extremely tired.
