I was taking my second loading dose of Humira on Friday. The first of two injections backfired (my wife claims I counted too fast...no way: ) The problem is Humira seems to give me a HORRIBLE headache day after the injection. So I am thinking rather than ruin another day within the next week, i just take the replacement at my next scheduled treatment.

Any thoughts or suggestions? My GI is on vacation and the Humira hasn't started working yet.

I would call the pharmacist to see what they suggest. I'm waiting for insurance approval to begin Humora myself. Do you use the pen?

I luckily use the pen. As much as I hate needles I just cannot imagine a shot.

You could also call the Humira help line. I used them a few times and they were very helpful.

How do you know it backfired? I once thought mine did. Didn't feel the injection at all. There was no sign of any meds anywhere.So I guess it went in. If the yellow line is there then the injection meds went somewhere. I count to 30!

Some of the needles take a while to come down... I remember thinking to myself come on already, then I would feel the burn and be like oh there it is lol

Kelina, I once felt nothing not even a little something. Maybe I hit a dead area on my thigh. Lol!!!!

Kelina, it only happened once. Took a magnifying glass out to see if a mark was made from the needle. Made myself crazy over that lol. Never happened again. Always feel the slight burn. Take it weekly now. Expert at giving the injections.

The pens also make a noise when the injection is finished. If your hearing is ok and its quiet you will hear a swish type noise is the best way I can describe it, lol.

I hear the swish noise. I might have just been not concentrating while I was doing it. Who knows!
