update on cimzia - wants to add canasa and probiotics to the mix

I went to see a nurse today to discuss cimzia and why I passed out after my injections. Shes thinks I just got nervous and fainted....soo they want me to have it done in clinic for the next few shots just to make sure. She also added Florastor Probiotics and Canasa to the mix to try to speed getting me out of this flare. SO now the med list grows even more.

Cimzia

Methotrexate

Calcium w/ Vitamin D

Canasa

Folic Acid

Bentyl

lomotil

Hoping this all works :)

I really hope it works for you. Were you able to take the injection or did you lose it due to fainting? Have you seen results?

It was 2 injections...1st one I did fine and the 2nd one I passed out right at the end of giving myself the shot. Cimzia is really really thick...so it takes a while to inject. I haven't seen too many results yet...but I did have 1 day that I didn't go at all! so I will take what I can get at this point :)

I've heard Humira is thick too. Did you try Humira? I wonder if this is thicker. They say with Humira, it's easier to inject if you let it get to room temp.

I have tried Humira and it is not thick. I had no issues with it at all.

Hope all goes well for you.....

If you're having more symptoms once you started the Floraster, stop them for a while and see if you improve. Not all seem to get along with it.

Have you tried remicade too? Just curious. I have tried humira and remicade. I asked my GI about trying cimiza but he said since I failed two biologics there was no point in trying a 3rd. I go back in a couple of weeks and am going to bring it up again.

I didn't find humira to be thick at all either.

Cimzia is so thick that it actually takes a few days to physically be absorbed by your body... the injection site usually has kind of a raised lump where the medication is until that happens. I was so freaked out by it until I found that info on the internet. Now I tell everyone :)

I failed Cimzia and Remicade, but I failed pretty much everything... Good luck! My GI is a big fan of Cimzia, she thinks it's the safest of the big three.

I'm one that had a severe reaction to Florastor after just one dose.

Thanks for the advice on FLorastor....I all of a sudden felt worse after my first dose the other day and since then I have had lots and lots of trips to the bathroom with just mucous/blood. I have already taken one today but Im going to stop and see if thats whats causing it. Also I am wondering if the Canasa I started could be doing it. I wake up and have to empty and so far can't even keep it in the entire night...doctor said at least I am getting a little bit of the medication.

Pink- I have been on Remicade...then Humira and now Cimzia. I also had tried azathioprine but had a severe serum sickness reaction and ended up in the hospital for 4 days. I would push to try the Cimzia...worth a try right?? I keep telling myself that at least
