everyone should do a genova labs or metametrix test or maybe 2. it helped correct imbalances for me, so I knew to flood bifidobacteria.
I got "Parasite present taxonomy unknown" on my metametrix that Im now going to pursue further with a serology test for S.stercoralis. I have walked barefoot on many beaches all over the world. I love beaches.
I think everyone with IBD should get one, especially before kept on prednisone. Its been a pain in the ass to find a doc who will order ELISA serology for this

I too got taxonomy unknown. I will be doing test again in March per my doctors request.
The test allowed me to find out what is wrong with my digestive system:
I didn't eat a
balanced diet when I was younger, leading to acid reflux, and then
taking Prilosec. If prilosec can limit production of hydrochloric acid
or gastric juices, then i can attribute this to IBS and hypochlorhydra
symptoms since I was about
15 or 16yrs.
drweyrich.weyrich.com/disorders/hypochlorhydria.html I've had
all of these symptoms at that age.
Its possible that my Elastase 1 pancreatic insufficiency can explain my maldigestion
of protein, and fermentation in the gut leading to post-prandial
bloating.

parasites, causing auto-immune inflammation.
I also wonder if reason for Low Total SCFA and n-Butyrate showing up on my tests is because
of lack of fiber in past diet, then leading to imbalance of GI
microbes/good bacteria.
Leading me to believe that my UC is digestion related and can be repaired in some way by rebuilding the gut. I've emailed this to my doctor and he said I could certainly be right but that we need to examine other possibilities.
