Infectious Disease Doctor/Specialist

Ive heard it better to go to a Rhematologist or Lyme literate doc. I didnt have a great experience my one time with infectious disease but have tried to get back to one but there are none on my healthplan you can self refer to. They are all attached to hospitals.

I think it is very worthwhile to rule out rare bacteria.

not sure if this is rare or not but before I was diagnosed with UC via colonoscopy biopsy i had a positive test for aeromonas hydrophila...

I saw a research in Japan and Australia? were they did find a rare bacteria called F. Varium in almost every patient in the study and treated it with a combo antibiotic.

There are many bacteria, viruses, Protozoa and parasites that can cause Inflammatory bowel diseases.

Roadback.org is a place I've seen for those looking for doctors more versed in stealth pathogens and their proper treatment.

Have you tried the metametrix/ Genova tests.. They at least find parasites for me, but return taxonomy unknown. I've had parasite present, taxonomy unknown 3 times now.. I just started with a new rheumy that likes the gi panels from diagnostechs. It's a 3 day stool plus saliva test.

We will see Monday, got a call that an appt opened early so I'll get the results of all my tests ( they took 14 vials of blood, urine and did ultrasound joint and muscle examination.)

I have actual microscopic slides with the worm larvae and I'm still having a hard time getting treatment. It is very hard to get them to take this seriously even tho we know nectator Americanis, ancyclostoma roundworms and taenia all show up here in America.. Some are epidemic in the south. Look into Rockefeller and hookworm..

I'm treating myself with herbs and supplements now cause I just couldn't wait another month to get into the doc when I started. I now believe I killed something and can't pass it completely. It's causing proctitis and inflammation but I feel so much better in some ways. My point is that if you Ever find yourself at the point of treating based on symptoms keep the bowels moving at all costs.

There are places like Focus diagnostics that do tests on the prottogliods, which is maybe what comes out for him. What do they look like? worms or more eggs/segments?

And very sticky strings of candida that have to be scraped off the bowl, won't flush.

Just that he has always had attention/focus problems. The questionable critters all have pointy tales. Well baseball porty pots since he was 5 and we have been to a few lakes. The year before this started the lake was nasty and my other son got a staff infection on his legs. Oh and 2 months after his symptoms began, appendicitis.... too much bacteria for it to handle!!!

I was just trying to think of alternate avenues to get him looked at, but DAN drs are about autism...

If you think it is parasites Id really keep on it.. what do your docs say about the things you see?

Ridiculous.... asked him 3x if he swallows his gum?? I already have an appointment or Tuesday with an infectious disease doc who specializes in parasites and bacteria...can't wait! My mom works on a pediatric floor in a community hospital and a few nurses think they are parasites.

I get my test results Monday and cannot wait. Try to push for metametrix/genova or some other non labcorp stool test. you want an O&P with an actual microscopist at minimum. No computerized O&Ps. Good luck!

Last year he did great on Vancomycin but after a few weeks bleeding returned. Gi doctors aren't trained in this area. Did the people who tried the triple combo stay in remission?

I am going to try make him vsl#3 enemas with aloe juice.
