That's a pretty cool syringe! Never thought I'd say that prior to UC :). And cheap too!

BTW, has anyone thought about administering the E with something else such as EVOO? I also tried mixing warm water with lecithin granules and then adding the E. The lecithin acted as an emulsifier and dispersed the E well.

Weird, most people say the bleeding stops right away... MAybe you placeboed yourself with the blood thinner thoughts... Like I said, 12 hours for me yesterday with no BMs after my enema... Ive been averaging every 2-5 hours.

i've done homemade vit e oil,  and homemade kefir grain enemas.  did about a week of each.  boiled water, and used old rowasa bottles.  i have also done hydrocort enemas and foam, rowasa and canasa.

vit e and kefir did nothing/maybe made worse

hydrocort only seems to work for a few days

ive had the best luck with rowasa.  it didnt get me into complete remission but got me pretty darn close.  imuran plus rowasa seems to be doing the trick these days

I have tried vitamin E enemas for my flare last year. As you can see from my sig, i was doing other things at the time as well. However i do believe they helped. Which makes sense as they form a barrier and help the tissues heal. My main issue was that everytime i had a bm i felt my recal mucosa was being scraped and re-injured. So keeping stool soft, squatting for defecation, and using psyllium seed and vitamin E were all important. Prayer and positive thoughts above all though, as we all know how stress is bad for this disease.
Btw, i used the Terumo Hypodermic syringe. Google it. The rowasa bottle was really difficult to use as most of it would be air. Not sure about OM's suggestion of doing acrobatics to get the vitamin E in there, sounds too uncomfortable.

Oh, and i used water-dispersable natural vitamin E. Water dispersable is better coz it dissolves in the water and covers tissues more evenly. I used Ethical Nutrients brand.

Freddy: I have not gone poo yet myself,perhaps will give it one more shot,
after when if I go poo. No placebo effect on shooting blood.
I have yet to see a placebo effect on anything I have done,most things
I do which are supposed to work do not work on me.

Old Mike have you tried triple antibiotic therapy or combo of flagyl and cipro? It's just that i've noticed that some members here who 'fail everything' seem to be finding them useful...

Concur: Have had at the same time flagyl,and amoxicillin,2 years ago
was on cipro for 37 days,no effect. Never on triple though.
Years ago I thought septra improved things somewhat,took bottles of it I managed to get,still have UC.

SEE HERE you can tell he and I had exchanges as I am always curious to follow folks for a long time seeing if what 'CURED' them is helping others. He never backed off his 'cure' but I'm skeptical of this working. He had me talking back and forth in email (I couldn't heal)

Now if you go here this is
Sheldon's last real exchange with different users.
I went to other 'Vitamin E enema" posts and gathered the following anecdotal things (users please correct anything I've gotten wrong here):
'PSA' (first report it working then had colon removed)
'Mudua' (earlier years boasts of Sheldon's Cure working for him then lingers around talking as though he's still having issues and has strange posts to studies of UC in different areas)
'Frank Thomas' (still posting and believe I read that he reported it helping but now I notice he is having troubles and on to other medicines - is that correct, Frank?)
'Dr. A' (reported it working and last posts are he's on Remi and not doing well - is that correct Dr. A?)

I hope all are doing well and don't intend to call anyone a liar or that they misled; I just was skeptical of this working and not taking off (like the AMP Floracel - if it's truly helping people these go on to university and government studies like the probiotics, FMT and SCD)

I have yet to hear from anyone aside from Sheldon for which this worked long term and those short terms folks didn't appear to go back to it.

I got no improvement following Sheldon's 'cure' but he was willing to at least email you and work with you to try. Maybe he was flushing out his colon and his diet and stress and other things were the things that really mattered. I kind of thought that was what the guy who gave himself garlic enemas was doing. He's long gone or at least that is a 'cure' which did not hold water.

I haven't tried this, but I don't understand the logic behind it. If a vitamin E enema works on you then it probably means you're deficient in vitamin E, like the rest of the modern world. Wouldn't it make more sense to take high doses orally so that it repairs the body systemically? It's not hard to get true vitamin E in your diet, just eat nut butters like almond butter.

The only thing I can see an enema like this doing is temporarily coating the ulcerations. Vitamin E is really sticky so it could be good for that. But is it actually healing the ulcer or just providing a temporary shield? I guess it's pretty anti-oxidant so it could help resolve some toxicity. I dunno... I just don't get it.
