This may well be a daft question, but is there any reason why you can't take Prednisone enemas and Mesalamine (specifically Asacol) suppositories together, although not at the same time. For example, take the Prednisone last thing in the evening, and then an Asacol suppository at around mid-day.
Would doing this be -
a) potentially dangerous
b) futile, as there wouldn't be any great benefit to doing so, it's one or the other.
The reason I ask is I'm trying to get an antibiotic inspired flare under control. Asacol seems to stop diarrhea, and the Prednisone has in the past proven to stop the bleeding, but neither does both (although Asacol worked fine pre-antibiotics). I may just be being impatient, but thought I'd ask the question, and I'm pretty certain what my doc's answer will be.
Many Thanks to All who reply.
