Wellbutrin for UC

Are you on the generic or the name brand?

If you could refresh my memory, last time your doc upped your Pred and you stayed on same dose of Wellbutrin. What was the reason?

I don't see connection between being sick after eating and the drug in generic form. I am not making a blanket statement that all generics are pretty much similar with the brand names but usually the difference lies with the fillers, otherwise the generics are same with respect to bioavailability of the drug. Unless you are sensitive to the fillers in the generic form, you should not experience any troubles.

I upped to three on Thursday night. Still waiting to see if my change. I am also starting some antibiotics so it might be awhile before I can tell.

Teddtlove: How are things going now? Are you still taking the Wellbutrin, has it helped?

Two years ago I gave Bupropion a try in Immediate Release form, 100 mg 3 x a day. I had an almost spontaneous remission from chronic diarrhea to a well-formed bowel movement the 2nd day I was taking it. However Bupropion was not the only factor, I was also tapering off Prednisone and just a week before has stopped doing fecal transplants after 5 weeks of them. I also added Silenor (Doxepin) 6 mg for sleep at night, re-starting taking Apriso and mesalamine suppositories as well as re-upping the protein shakes.

However through my rapid taper or for the next 3 months the symptoms stayed under control as I tapered off the other drugs over the following months which continuing the Bupropion and switching to the XL form of it. It seems like it really helped me.
