A few questions about antibiotics for UC

In terms of Vanco they put me on one 2 week cycle orally. It worked very well.

So they gave me 3 more cycles. I think the last one was a month. Each time it worked. But each time symptoms returned after stopping.

Some gastros are using long term oral Vanco for UC. There are a few published case reports of it working, and obviously from some of the posts on the board some GIs are using it but haven't published any thing.

I get the feeling it is a very controversial topic. They thought I might have something infectous. They hit it with Vanco to see if it would help (and it did like nothing else) but were not willing to do long term Vanco.
