Hi,

So my Dr. wants me off the Align and start taking VSL #3  DS 2x a day....I just ordered some from Amazon, but it won't get here until March 26.  Do any drug stores, health food stores carry this?  I'd like to start tonight if possible.

I have tried Align and it's great for normal people but I think people with UC need higher doses to fight all the crap in our colon (no pun intended). I'm actually thinking about seeing a new GI and inquiring about VSL#3 DS because a lot of people have mentioned good things about it here.

You can always call your local drug stores and ask them. That would be the quickest and easiest way IMO.

You should order directly from the VSL website. The website also lists stores in your area which sell it. I'm assuming you had a prescription since you aren't supposed to be able to order the DS version without one. Have you checked to see if your insurance covers it? Some do.

I asked the Dr. if I needed a prescription and he said no, that I can order online or check health food/drug stores.... UGH!

VSL #3 ds is by prescription only. Pretty sure what you ordered is either the standard VSL#3packers (450B per) or the capsules 112.5B per capsule. Insurace will cover the DS, mine covers 60 packets a month for 30 bucks. Hope that helps

Thanks for the head's-up...I just called Dr's. office to ask them to please call into my pharmacy, he goes on vacation tomorrow so hopefully I'll get it. Thanks again.

right DS is only by prescription. Also, I ordered mine from the VSL website, came in two days no extra charge and packaged on ice which it should be. Great service from their website!
