Ok, I've had this strange red object in my stool for a couple of months now. This keeps appearing in my stool even though I haven't eaten any red food recently.
I know it's gross but I got up my courage and actually picked it up with a toothpick.... I even took a picture: http://www.fotopu.com/image/343827 (I'm so sorry about
this..)
As you can see in the picture, it doesn't diffuse into water. Please give me your opinion as to what it is! I appreciate it!
(I've done colonoscopy once, and everything was fine)

Personally to me, it looks like a food particle. Even if you are not aware of eating anything red, sometimes it can be in something and you not realize it. Is there any correlation to what you ate and the red pieces every time?
It's actually kind of hard to tell exactly what it is truth be told.
By chance to do you take Asacol? If so, it could be the shell of Asacol.

Aw its so small!! It looks like tomato skin to me. That's exactly how it looks when it comes out in my ostomy bag. Could definitely be a piece of Asacol shell too.
It's hard to tell texture from the pic but it could also be a small piece of bloody mucus.

Thanks for replying. No, I consciously avoid red food because I fear I would see them in my stool...
But nonetheless, this strange object keep appearing.
but isn't it weird that even I put it in a a cup of water, it doesn't diffuse and the color never fade?
the texture is kinda soft.

Ryan.P, do you take Asacol? When I was extremely ill, my Asacol tablets didn't dissolve completely, and I would have at least one stool a day with pieces of Asacol, or entire tablets. If you're only having small pieces like that picture, it's nothing to worry about
. But I'm not sure if you're taking Asacol or not!

yep, looks like an asacol casing. It'll turn an orangey red colour.
That's a good thing, so you know that it's breaking
open and breaking apart...
Gee, and I was expecting it atop a poo...thanks for separating it.

No, I'm not taking any medication currently.
I'm wondering if maybe mthe blood was from my hemorrhoid , and
the blood sort of turn the poop red?

no meds..hmm. Well, it could be bloody mucus blobs, but I would think that you would be able to release the blood in the water as you muck around with it.
So absolutely nothing red or orange in your diet...up to 2 - 3 days ago?
What about
supplements...any of them have a reddish coating?

No, I'm sure I've eaten nothing red in my diet over the past few days.
Should I bring it to the doc's attention? but I've done colonoscopy already so maybe I should stop panicking?

Hi, guys here is a little update:
I took "the red object" out from water and broke it apart. It looks like this:

It pretty much looks like blood mixed in the stool right?

Ryan, based on your other posts, you do not have IBD, you were diagnosed with internal hemeroids and you have anxiety (hypocondriac).
hemeroids take a while to treat - focus on that for a while with out worrying about
the 100 of others things that could be wrong.
your recent scoop was clear. Get proper treatment for a few weeks for hemeroids (try different brands too if one is not helping. and continue to pursue help with your anxiety/panic.
If you have an IBD, time will show more symptoms - cramps, severe mucous, lots of blood, diareah or constipation, frequency, urgency...
I work with preschoolers so I see lots of different "poo's" there are many many many unidentifiable 'objects' of various colour that come out in ones stool. You are just focusing on it right now and seeing everything.

Hey guys, thanks for replying:)
Yesterday , I couldn't sleep at all because I had this dull pain in my right lower abdomenal area.
I rushed to the hospital getting checked out and it turned out I had
appendicitis and I'm having a surgery tomorrow...
It's so funny that I've doubted I had some serious disease and I actually have but mild one.
