When you called Dr. Stein, did you just leave a message with his receptionist? He has not responded to my e-mail, and I am getting desperate to try this.

I believe so. I think he's been pretty busy, so perhaps that has something to do with it. I'd say just call his office and talk to reception, they will book an initial consultation via phone, though there is a fee for this (Mine was $200 give or take) - but it's how I got started on the program. It was decided during that call that I would have everything I needed sent to me to begin and get to the point where I am now.

Also I think they have semi-weird hours. Not the normal 9-5 every day of the week.

Thanks, so I need to decide if I want to do this before I call and set up a consultation. have you had any side effects?

Hey, I e-mailed my Gi the link to your updates and asked him if he would support my choice to try this. he said yes. I think I am going to ask for kidney function and liver function tests during and I think I am going to do a c-scope about a month after getting leveled out. That would be interesting to see what it looked like in there. I am due for one anyway, so I am calling the office tomorrow to set up a consultation. I am excited. I hope it works for me like it worked for you!

Hmmm... side effects so far:

Clear skin now
Awesome poop (No blood, mucus, Urgency, or D)
I fall asleep when the sun goes down (really, I get very, very tired) - I used to have mild insomnia
I awake as soon as the sun come up... without any alarm
All of a sudden I have zero sugar cravings

Other than these the only actual negative side effect was:

-The rough go on week 2 (the second dosage change).
-Severe tiredness up until the last dosage change - now I'm normal throughout the day till the sun goes down.
-Last week I had that tightness or "clinching" feeling but that went away with the last dosage change.

I'm trying to think here of some side effects but honestly other than being tired and that clinching feeling that's all I can think of.

I wish I could tell you more - or if it was a scam or not... but I don;t have any answers other than I'm no longer on meds, in full remission and feel great... My biggest worry at the moment is I don't want this feeling to go away.... That's what scares me most.

Hi lemonhead! Sounds interesting. Have you ever considered balancing hormone therapy. It's been working for me. It's been a month since I started on this new protocol. Helped a lot.

No, I went back on the pill a couple years ago and all hell broke loose. If I understand this protocol correctly, it will help to balance my hormones as well. This is something I am going to ask Dr. Stein about when I speak to him.

I’m getting ready to try this treatment. I’ve been struggling with UC for over five or six years. After the initial phone consultation fee how much did it cost to get everything you needed - supplements, lab costs, etc for the first few weeks? I’ve already emailed Dr. Stein and will be calling his office later this week to set up a phone consultation.

Ummm - Let's see... each urine test I believe costs $160 and a months supply of the supplements at my dosage as of now is $170.33

So basically I needed 3 urine tests to get to this point. So that's $480. Plus two months supply of supplements $340 and say add in the initial consult fee $200 for a grand total of $1020 give or take. I may have ordered a few more supplements just to get ahead and make sure I always have them on hand so as to not miss a dose.

Anyway - you'll really have to ask him that question - not me.

I just figured it out today - and if you just look at the maintenance costs once you get to the point where I am today, and only needing to ensure that you take the supplements each day it works out to just under 6 bucks a day... for me and my particular dosage that is. I would assume others would be within a few cents of this.

I just said to myself earlier... imagine if it was just this simple... 6 bucks a day to be normal again. Crazy when I think about it.

I'm still in full remission here. Again, not sure what to make of this all really. Surprised that the darn stuff even worked. For 6 bucks a day I'll brown bag my lunches to offset the cost and live a normal life if this continues lol.

Ahh yes - so this would be used if you need or want to phone in and talk with him for a bit about current symptoms, dosage change etc. in place of an actual office visit fee. I think I may have done this maybe twice.
