I have been in a flare for uc for a while on humira and prednisone.my symptoms were blood and small pebbles but since I have gotten on the plane for Hawaii 5 days ago I have had massive diarrhea no cramps though or fever or vomiting. Just very loose explosive bowel movements all day long. Been taking Imodium stil going lots. What In The world would this be?

It could be a parasite, bacteria, travelers diarrhea or your UC. Only a doctor doing tests can diagnose that one I'm afraid.

Just note that Imodium can be dangerous if you are in a flare (at least when in a bigger one). So don't take it too much.

I'm on vacation. In Hawaii Wont be back until next thud. I cannot get tested.

How on Earth can you travel on a plane with "very loose explosive bowel movements all day long"?

Where were you flying from? Was this another state in the US? Do you have a good GI at home? If so I would call and get their recommendation. I have heard good things about pepto bismol stopping travelers D. Though if it started on the plane I don't see how it could be cause by the new environment. Good luck

Hi,

It could even be your flare showing different signs ? This happened to myself with my UC, went from slight blood and constipation to explosive and literally running to make it. Had many accidents (horrible)

I would probably be more cautious about travelling while ever UC is not under control just to be safe.
