PSC

Hi, I'm new to UC but been doing a lot of reading on this site and forums. I was looking for info on Primary sclerosing cholangitis. How prevalent is that with people with UC? Does anyone have it here? Whats checks should you be doing to make sure you are not suffering from this?

Thanks for that. I was diagonsed last year at age 35 with pancolitis. I'm doing great. Was just coming to terms with UC and managing it well and then heard from some guy at work that people with UC have a good chance of liver failure. That really freaked me out.

A question, if you have you colon removed does that also remove the high risk of PSC?

so, you don't have psc? don't even let it enter your mind.

What meds are you on?

Liver failure happens for various reasons...not only psc.

Worry about it if it's suspected...otherwise, keep feeling well!

I have been told that even though I have had my colon removed that I could still get any of the things that can go along with UC like arthritis for example. I suppose there is no cut and dry answer. I can tell you that since my colons been out I have been totally fine and healthier than I have been in years. Knock wood.
