Lately I have been really moody, I have been feeling really down and cannot stop thinking that everyone hates me. This started when I took the pred, has anyone experienced sever moodiness on this drug??? I have been taking everything out on my husband. Poor thing.

Prednisone definitely affects your mood. It brings out a side of you that sometimes is quite scary! "Roid rage" is pretty standard. One minute you are good then the next some little something has set you completely off. Enlighten your family. Let them know that Pred can make you snap- then be aware of it yourself. When something irks you, step away! You can always use UC as an excuse to go calm down in the bathroom.

I have experienced the rage, but mostly for me, I go into hyper drive. My house is never cleaner, nor are more baked goodies ever baked than when I am on Pred. As long as my mind stays focused on some task, then I tend to avoid the rage...or maybe I am letting it out by scrubbing my kitchen floor.

That is a very common side effect. It can go way paste moodiness to downright meanness. It shortens people's fuses considerabley.

Prednisone wreaks havoc with your body! It is very, very normal to have anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc while taking it, and even after you stop taking it. My daughter couldn't sleep when she was on it, and that made her moods even worse! She was like a different person while taking it (and a teenager to boot!).

Try not to beat yourself up - it's not your fault! Ask your Dr for help if needed...you don't have to suffer. Hang in there :)

I get crazyyyy too! The wrong thing can just set me off wildly. Make sure to let your close ones know its not your fault its the pred!

I've been fortunate on pred, only side effects seem to be insatiable hunger and slight forehead acne. I was hanging out with a nurse the other week and my illness came up, I told her I was on pred and she was shocked at how I was showing very little effects of the drug.

I do have some issues sleeping, but I've always been on a different schedule than the rest of the world.

Pred def jacks me up and gives me mood swings. Not crazy but there is an effect for sure.
