www.scbt.com/datasheet-202341-sodium-butyrate.htmlSodium Butyrate has been reported to cause hyperacetylation of histones due to its role as an HDAC (histone deacetylase) inhibitor. This compound has been shown to cause induction of differentiation and gene expression and also prevent cell proliferation. Mechanistic studies suggest that the action of Sodium Butyrate is often mediated through Sp1/Sp3-associated HDAC activity which leads to transcript
ional activation of the p21 gene. Additionally this agent demonstrates the ability to downregulate numerous genes associated with cytokine signaling, specifically, the IFN-γ (interferon γ) pathway.
Sodium butyrate really is a wonder.
It says there that it's Dissolveable in water,(and DMSO..which is an interesting idea for topical delivery) so I'd just try gently warming the coconut oil, maybe 2tbsp each suppository... it would be easiest to make multiple ones at a time.. Warm it to no higher then 100, just till liquid...then mix in the contents of a capsule of the butyrate..if it dissolves, try 2 caps. (start at 2.. I bet you could get to 4.) then pop the bowl in the fridge.. Use a glass or Pyrex bowl. When the coconut oil starts getting solid, spoon it to the middle of some wax paper and make it into a cylinder, twisting off the ends. Freeze and use from freezer.
