Jimbo, NAC is pretty strong stuff. Id start there and see how you do. start at 500mg and add 500mg per day till you reach 2000mg. Beware of the Nac flu. If this knocks you on your ass.. stop and visit opening up your detox pathways more through methylation support. if you are constipated, work on that before trying to chelate anything out.
I tried to chelate using Interfase with EDTA a couple months back and that is literally the most horrible Ive ever felt outside of a flare. Every joint hurt, my head was so foggy, it was bad. My body is not ready for hardcore chelation yet. I do take nac tho. Some people say NAC kills pathogens and that in the first flew days that is why it creates the nac flu.. some say its just the chelation, some say its the speeding up of it's part of the methyl cycle. NAC is a precursor to glutatione. So if you rev that up after its been underproducing you are going to feel it. I dunno what the root answer is, but I felt sick for about a week on nac. I think it was because of my Mycoplasma infection. I saw radical reduction in it's numbers within days of starting NAC and Ive had not a single cold or flu since I started it. I was sick every 2 weeks, no lie, before. I changed alot of things a few weeks after adding nac that Im sure helped too.
Some people say (my dr is not one of them) that you must take 3x the amount of vitamin c as you do NAC to prevent the formation of cysteine kidney stones. I trust my doc, but still I take C-Salts pretty regularly, JIK ;)
