Thanks you guys! I haven't seen any difference yet, but I'm not expecting to see any changes for 5 to 7 days. Well, in fact, I had a really bad morning today, but I'm starting to think that in addition to everything else, I need to go on that FODMAP elimination diet.
My birthday is next week and my boyfriend's birthday is the following Sunday, and I'm going to become a hermit or something for a few weeks following that and stick to a diet with zero gluten and few or no FODMAP foods to see what happens.
But I'm still pretty excited about Uceris.
PalaceDan, I have UC through the mid-transverse colon and yet corticosteroid enemas help me a LOT so I hear you on that. In fact, my trouble today is probably due to my not using the steroid enema last night. Dumb me. :-(
I seem to be improving today. Definitely better than yesterday - but you know how it is, cause and effect with this disease is impossible.
My understanding is that it's the inflammation in the rectum that really drives frequency and urgency. I have no stomach pains, and based on the last flex sig really a tiny area of inflammation, but it's enough to make my colon work overtime. So I would guess that if it's these symptoms you're thinking about
then a steroid enema or suppository would make the most noticeable difference.
Happy birthday for next week. Hope it works for you and you can really enjoy the day.
