Craziest Prednisone/UC story

I have been having some truly crazy episodes after my hospital stay and my current Pred taper. Tell me your most crazy and or embarrassing story and I promise to share mine :)

Ok so no takers? Well here is my latest. Of course I keep waking up at odd hours, eating food like a man possessed, being angry as hell at a lot of people. So my wife tells me you don't know what we are going through. I ask what. Apparently the other night I wanted a sandwich. It was like 1 am but this Pred is crazy. I got up made a sandwich and got a bag of Doritos. I am watching TV and apparently needed to go the the john. Well my 19 year old comes home at 2 am and dad is passed out on the bathroom floor with no pants on and the tv is on and there is a bag of doritos and a half sandwich in the living room. I remember the sandwich but that is it. Of course my 19 yr old is freaking out. Really until my wife told me I did not remember any of this. I keep being amped up one minute and totally passed out the next. I honestly feel I am losing my mind sometimes

There used to be a small tiger tattoo under the new big one. It was from 1989 though so it was kind faded. The new tattoo is kind of an alien skull facing upward with its mouth open. Hopefully expelling my frustration and sickness from inside. There is going to be some smoke coming out of the mouth. Like I said it is from an instrumental album titled "the fire in our throats will becon the thaw" Kind of a strech I know. Still needs some detail added next week once it has healed he will work on it some more.   It is way bigger than I planned also. As for the toilet It is in my downstairs tiny 1/2 bathroom so I probably got up and then sat on the floor because I have been having the episodes of extreme exhaustion where I just have to sit down to catch my breath. I then sometimes fall asleep. My entire sleep pattern at the moment is in disarray. I often wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep which is not the way I usually am.   Yes my daughter was a little freaked out and my wife was a lot freaked out.

scum1..thanks for the explanation on the tattoo...I wasn't too far off. Looking forward to seeing when it's finished.

It's a relief you didn't fall off the toilet...

At 30mg of pred I'm constantly hungry all day long. I indulge the urge to eat as I lost a lot of weight during the initial phase of this flareup. I am now just 3 pounds shy of my pre-flare weight, and I'll keep eating more until I am back to that (or perhaps a little above that weight to have a safety-net for the next inevitable flareup). I munch throughout the morning and afternoon at my job -- I have lots of snacks. So having the munchies may not necessarily be a bad thing if you are in the same boat as me.

I do tend to crash pretty early in the evenings, like 9pm-ish I am getting very sleepy on the couch, but I usually hold out till 10pm, even if that means nodding off a few times haha. From the pred, perhaps?

Doing a bit better but still having issues sleeping and also eating like crazy lol.

Oh pred! I have had it once, but when I was on 40mg, I was a crazy person. I had anger issues all the time. Could not control my appetite, I would eat constantly. I would go on these runs where I would eat like 3 meals in a row, then I would get sooo tired and want to go to sleep. I would get mad at everyone lol. Got pretty puffy from it too. Did good until I got under 10mg. Then flare came back. Lol so it was working but didn't 100% for me.

I been at 30 mg for a week now and I'm going for my 3rd Remicade on Monday. Fingers crossed this 3rd loading dose is the one. Not sure I'll be ready to drop to 20 mg on Pred next week. Have to see how the Remicade does for me I suppose or I might just drop to 25. I also have an appoint for my Tattoo to worked on more next Wed.

I hear ya scum!.... I'm eating 3 full meals ( use to only really eat a big meal at dinner and do more munching at breakfast and lunch) plus bigger portions , plus munching threw the evening, plus a Boost drink mid morning.... plus plus plus...


Also functioning on about 5 hrs of sleep/per day for the past 2 weeks if I'm lucky might get an hour nap in there somewhere ... but not usually. Use to need and try to get 8hrs. now .... 4:30 am Bling... eyes open... time to go start the day!!!! grrrr. I'm at 35, should drop tomorrow to 30mg but gonna push it back a few days as i just got my 3rd Remicade infusion today and don't want to make any changes for now....

omg I have been going through anxiety like crazy I had to be admitted into the hospital for four days cause of suicidal and homicidal thoughts I had to be weaned off in the hospital although they gave me 20mg once in the hospital so basically I just stopped cold turkey.... I still have anxiety like crazy!!!! and I feel like my symptoms are coming back and fatigue is on blast...
