You wont be getting many responses... I tried to look up scarecrows past posts to see if she was a shill but couldnt tell. Shes the only one on here that seems to report any help. Youll have to report back yourself.

I have been taking some interest in medicinal mushrooms, however. I think the science is pretty good that several are immune boosting, and/or anti-inflammatory.

Been considering taking them with my psyllium powder, mixed together maybe even?.. I used to take them many years ago, when I had very mild, intermittent, undiagnosed colitis. Cant remember the effect however.

I received an order from CCherbal a while ago but had other issues to take care of before starting something new.

The ingredients in this product include Huang Qin (Baikal Skullcap), Qing Dai (Indigo Naturalis) and Mu Xiang (Costus Root). I've searched for properties of each and they are all described as being anti-inflammatory.

I tried taking one cap the other morning and later experienced a headache. Don't know if it's related.
Will (reluctantly) try again and see if headache follows.

I'm curious to know if you were prescribed any of these herbs.
Will appreciate your comments.

I started a thread on this after my sister made a strong endorsement of Chineese glandular medicine over dinner last night. I found some interesting research on the topic.

therearemiracles- maybe try dumping half of the capsule out and build up to taking a whole one so your body can adjust to the Chinese medicine. I always do that with every new drug I take, simply because of my crazy medication reactions.

I'm still reluctant about taking this product but then I was always very cautious about taking any drug (legal or not).

Thanks for the suggestion to take half of a capsule.
Will probably try this but, at the first sign of a headache, I will back off. Things are going too well to risk causing a problem.

I see this thread is a bit old, but I'll comment.

I have a friend with Crohn's disease, and she repeatedly told me about how Chinese medicine helped her feel better. Eventually, in fall 2011, I went to see her practitioner. He and I worked together, putting me on different regimens to try to heal my symptoms that seemed to be more IBS than anything.

Nothing worked, but the herbs seemed pretty strong!

THEN, the last thing we tried was a tincture to work with the nerves to calm my system down I believe. Well, do not take those herbs!!! I flared within a week of taking those herbs, and was out of work for three weeks until I was put on Remicade and things finally calmed down.

I really think the Chinese medicine is pretty strong stuff, so at the very least be careful with it. Again, my friend with Crohn's really felt it helped.

I wrote them and said I was scared to try something new and have any neg. side effects been reported and why don't they have a telephone # on contact page and this is what I got: The phone number is (877) 379-0948.  I was unaware that it was not shown in the "contact" page.    If you are uncomfortable with taking any product, you should follow your instincts and not take the product.  I think that people who enter into a treatment program (pharmaceutical or herbal), and feel the treatment will not work, are usually right.      They don't sound like they are comforting in any way does it?

They do have the number posted on their site, it's just on the order page.

Aren't you doing the aminos? That's a pricey treatment.. Are you abandoning it?

no I have not abandoned the therapy yet, but amino acid is not a cure all, I'm suppose to keep taking meds and whatever I want to help myself per doctor.

I just wanted to help the inflammation as best I could.

I believe that many of these alternative treatments are more placebo related rather that fact related. If you really believe something will work, then a small percentage of the time they will work due to that placebo factor alone and nothing else. It sounds to me like this is the case here. He doesn't want to make any guarantees but knows that if you think it will work then it might. If you think it will not work then probably it won't.

Therearemiracles, I've stayed out of that amino thread but go read what kingofthetoilet wrote because I think he is spot on. If you wanna fix the root, look at mthfr and other mutations.Then you'll be able to kick all the pathogens.

There was a post last week from a new member from South Korea who had success with Natural Indigo (Qing Dai) - the same ingredient that IAS mentions above.

IAS I'm curious to hear how you went with this. Did you keep taking it? Headaches?

I tried this stuff for two weeks. Made me worse. I'm two weeks into Uceris now which is helping - better than I've been for a long time. I'm not in remission, but I will be if I improve as much over the next two weeks as I have over the last two. No side effects I'm noticing.

I started it yesterday, just a half capsule in afternoon and half in evening just to see how I was feeling on it. I took a half capsule this morning now too, no negative effect to report.

My doctor gave me 2 samples of this Chinese herb thing called Immuny II

It firmed up my bowel movements within 2 days! I couldnt get any more from him so I've actually just ordered some online. Also am using the NANO WATER- apparently it delivers vitamins directly to my cells.

I just bought CCHerbal because I'm going the herbal route. Honestly I'm really skeptical about it, but the herbs listed are legitmate TCM herbs for anti-inflammatory. I was taking high doses of Boswellia and Curcumin to stop my flare. Those only help a little but honestly did nothing to subside my inflammation. So I just stopped taking Boswellia and Curcumin. My CCHerbal packaged came in yesterday so I took one pill last night. From here on out I'm only just taking CCHerbal and will let you guys know the results. Wish me luck!

I'm on day two of this ccherbal, my stools are not formed BUT I'm not running back and forth to the bathroom, blood all day long either. Beginners luck, who knows, I'll let you know on Monday how things good. IT's a nice break for me. I've been off amino acids these two days as well.
