They are finally getting it,remember some of the stuff I have been saying, UC,body clock,melatonin,artificial light,shift work,immune system.

Lots of people work nights or are night owls and don't get intestinal infections...no?

I have a thread somewhere,shift work is associated with increased UC,artificial light,bio clocks being off.

Chronic insomnia (very hard to fall asleep, very hard to wake up) for about 25 years - developed sigmoid UC about half-way through that time period.

Accidentally discovered UC-beneficial effect of melatonin last year - reduction in pain/symptoms equivalent to reduction due to 2x400 mg mesalamine (primary treatment of last 12 years).

Was able to go off mesalamine completely after 4 months of 4x1mg melatonin (Walmart brand with B6). (Have also been taking psyllium and fish oil for last twelve years and continue to do so).

My son worked nights for over a year and his UC was the worst it had ever been. A very smart doctor told him to quit the nightshifts. The severity of his UC improved within a couple of months. Hes not in remission, but hes holding his own.
