Lovely day...
Started my morning with a horrendous accident in my car on the way to work. Never had had one of that magnitude before. Demoralizing to say the least. The rest of the day followed with some of the worst pain, bloating, and pressure....the pain & pressure has been unlike anything I have experienced so far. Now experiencing vomiting & low grade fever.
1). When do you all it a day and head to the ER?
2). Should you go to the ER, would you recommend that it is the one your doc is affiliated with although its across town?
Diagnosed with pancolitis about
a year ago, currently on 150 mg imuran (just found out I'm not metabolizing it as I should be, talking to doc about
remicade)

only you know how bad you are, you have to make that decision for yourself. Go to the ER and receive pain meds, steroids, and antibiotics almost immediately. They will save your life but destroy your flora and such, so it wont heal you.

Vomiting and fever yes, go to the ER now. Could be toxic megacolon and you need to be evaluated immediately with a CT or x-ray. Personally I would go to the hospital where my doctor is affiliated but you should be the judge of where you can make it in a timely fashion.

If i was in really bad pain, id go to the er. Better to be safe than sorry. I dont go for fevers/vomitting unless he fever is really high or i cant stand because im so dehydrated.

Careful there's no internal trauma, from the seatbelt for example
I assumed the accident involved crapping pants and not collision

Thanks for the support, and sorry for the confusion! Accident was indeed in my pants.....poor car....thank goodness there was no one around when I got back to my apartment! I must have been one smelly sight waddling up to my apt. Desperately trying to find the humor to alleviate the absolute shame......
Ended up going to the ER and looks like my colon has gotten significantly more inflammed since the last time it was pictured. But the source of the pain? Drum roll please.......gas. Lots and lots of gas. How embarrassing. I never knew gas could cause that sort of pain! Lesson learned.

I went last on a holiday so phoned ahead and learned they had ER appointments via web. I took my slot we waited at home and got in right away. Daughter went for vending machine and said everything changed and lobby/waiting area was swamped with people :)

i think putting on a seatbelt did indeed cause me to have an "accident" in my pants ! just the whole mental thing, being strapped down, thinking "oh sshiit, what if i have to go and can't get my darn seatbelt off ?"
