Anyone had MRI scan just got back

Didnt know you had to drink so much stuff before
Having to same effect as colonoscopy prep have not stopped runnning to toilet since I got back also given a muscle relaxant so stomach having a field day going to stay upstairs until all trces of drink have gone not taking any chances

Beats me what your talking about. I have had a 2-hour MRI/MRV after UC gave me a stroke, the MRI/MRV showed 100% elimination and I was able to get off blood thinner in 3 months instead of 6. Its magnetic not radiation so you just have to fast, sit still for an hour or two and for gods sake remove all metal.

Last ER visit 3 weeks ago I got the usual - CATSCAN and it was so bad they took my drivers license and my neighbor had to come get us out of there.

Glad I left I have been a tornado of projects on the new home landscaping and at work.

Had to have nothing to eat for 6 hrs and nothing to drink for 2 hrs before I went .
When I got there had to drink a ltr of very sweet orange stuff in 20-30 mins then they put a venflon in,had to lay on my stomach in the scanner they did so much then hooked me up to muscle relaxant and saline iv and carried on.
Had headphones on and they kept asking me to take deep breaths in and hold it for so many seconds whole scan took about an hour.
Was told it is a MRI small bowel scan if that helps

Ive done this a few times. But the stuff i drank made my poop bright green. Looked like mountain dew. It was like that for three days.

Ohh I hate that contrast! Except mine tasted like sour lemonade. It should be out of your system in a few days. When will you get the results?

I had this test about a year ago, I think its called an MRI Enterography. 

I was running to the bathroom before I even got into the MRI machine!  Then for hours after.  I threw up almost all the solution though so I think for me most of it never even made it to my colon.  I also have a shot before the MRI to slow down my digestive tract and another shot during the MRI to do the same thing. Not sure if you had that with yours, but I'm sure that's what made me throw up so much.

I also had a CT scan to look at my pancreas but for that only had to drink 1 bottle of that barium not 4 bottles like for the MRI. Much easier!

Hopefully get results in a couple of weeks but you never know with the nhs have now stopped running to toilet don't think I've anything left to come out.
Have now just got ultra tender and very noisy stomach.

How is your kidney infection since doctor changed you to Cipro? / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Kidney infection getting better thanks Old Hat thank goodness, the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick this time.

That's good news. I hope you can rest up a bit before the hens arrive. Take it easy; keep well-hydrated to flush all the MRI gook out of your system. / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
