Is this a prednisone side effect for you?

I'm chewing in my sleep and the insides of my cheeks are all torn up. I'm a chewer under stress anyway (not a grinder, though), but I'm just assuming this is prednisone-related and will go away when I taper.

Have you had this one?

What's your dominant side effect on prednisone?

I almost bit my boss's head off last night when we were discussing something I had written that he didn't understand and in my opinion the reason he didn't understand it was that he was asking me questions and then not listening to the answers, and instead of going through it methodically, he was jumping from place to place. Not a smart thing to do when your assistant is high on 60 mg of prednisone.

Never chewed the inside of my mouth but when I was on high doses of pred I was a cleaning maniac. My house was never so clean....and my car too. Everything sparkled!

My family literally stayed out of my way because I was evil on prednisone. That is some nasty stuff. Don't be too hard on yourself if you are irritable. It's not your fault. :)

Are you the person who once posted on here something to the effect of: "I knew I was on prednisone when I found myself cleaning the baseboards in my kitchen with a toothbrush. At 3 a.m. While crying."? I quote that ALL the time. I think it's the perfect summation of all that is wrong with pred LOL

I started grinding my teeth the last time I was on prednisone. I had incredible pain in my jaw and had to be fitted for a bite guard.

I've always been a cheek chewer so I can't remember if it was worse on prednisone. I've had the habit for a long time now.

I have two main side effects that suck the most. severe water retention (40 lbs in the first two days I took it) and night sweats. I remember changing my sheets 2-3 times during the night because I was literally swimming in sweat. i started sleeping naked so i wouldn't go through so many pajamas. my step dad did not approve of this since i was stationed on the living room couch for a few months. i couldn't climb the steps because my limbs weighed too much.

I do this a bit every now and then, I also grind my teeth in my sleep so I wear a nightguard. Perhaps you could look into one of those cheap $20 versions at Walmart to see if it helps.

bananagirl, I always sleep hot but yeah, I'm sweating more than usual now. If my boyfriend isn't over, I sleep in pajamas because it's easier to change those in the middle of the night than it is to change sheets LOL

it happens to me.. if i manage to sleep.. i sweat to death in my sleep, my legs get numb, i get headaches, and plenty others

Leg cramps, urge to pee, and insomnia are/were my big side effects.  Now that I'm cutting dosage these are starting to minimize but now I'm getting constant headaches and severe tiredness from withdrawal.
