I would say definitely try it. The problem is that, if it works, the effect is very gradual so it is hard to figure out whether it is helping or not. I managed to maintain something pretty close to remission while I was on it, and certainly got worse when I stopped taking it. The main downside I found was that I just didn't feel 100% great (tired etc...). Stopping taking it felt like a big weight was taken off my shoulders. I didn't try taking it at night though - wish I'd come across that idea at the time (and wish our GIs gave us useful advice like that).
One other thing - when you first take it I think it is pretty common to feel fairly awful for the first couple of weeks while your body gets used to it. Plan to spend plenty of time in bed to help your body out.
