Okay, I am new this forum or any forum. I was diagnosed 14 years ago. I have had good and bad times. Been on meds and no meds (partly my fault-thought if I could handle it I was fine) but also because I was symptom free and different doctors-different meds. My current dr at Kaiser for the last 3 years (said I would be on meds for rest of my life) had me on 4 Asacol 3x a day but had an understanding that I usually only took 8 a day. I have been on Canasa twice a day for a month at a time when flare-up was bad. Anyways, dr switched me to 4 Lialda a day couple of weeks ago, thought it would be great because I only have to take it once a day, but even though I was flaring, I swear it is worse. I felt like I had the flu for a few days and so much blood. Anyone else make the switch and had problems? Should I contact my dr or does it take awhile. I checked Lialda info and it says 6-8 weeks for a change but not sure if flare-up or meds that I am worse.
