vaccines anyone?

I just received a call from my doctor saying that she now wants me to get the HEP A and B vaccine. That makes me a little nervous since the last time I got a vaccine was when I was an infant. Has anyone ever had to get a vaccine. I may be starting remicade soon since the 6mp is no longer working. Could this be why? Thanks for your help. I am freaking out just a bit over this. :)

I think you are correct, it is probably because you may be started on immunosuppressant medication, they are trying to protect you from those infectious diseases.

Before I started 6MP (and now Remicade) my doctor had me get the flu vaccine, pneumonia vaccine and hep vaccine. He told me it was because of the immunosuppressant meds.

I haven't gotten any in years. I did get the HEP A/B vaccines when I was a child. I never get flu vaccines and I haven't had a flu in years.

Hi I got the Hep A/B vaccines, I also do the flu shot every year.
and the pneumonia shot.

I've had all the Heps, flu, pneumonia, and TB shots while I was on 6mp. Probably for the same reasons. But I had no issue with the immunizations.
