I think I have both. How do I treat during a flare? IT HURTS!

You contact your dr and ask him to help you...Rod...In the meantime warm baths should help...Rod

I know how you feel...at least about the hemorrhoids. It was one of the most painful things I have ever had in my life. I was close to going to have surgery to get them removed. I tried warm baths, preparation H, Tucks pads, and nothing seemed to help. I tried hydrocortisone suppositories and they did not help. But when I tried the 2.5% hydrocortisone that came in individual tubes, I began to feel a lot better.

For the Fissure try Mineral Oil. I had one a few years back and they are painful. All good until you have a BM then the pain hits because you tear it again. I tried all kinds of stool softeners found (for me) Mineral Oil did the trick. I think I took about a table spoon with each meal.

Not the time for a joke but here's a funny story that happened to me while trying to find a Dr to help me with the Fissure issue. Funny now, not then.
Made an appt with a local MD that I never had been to before. Aide took me into the exam room and took my vitals and asked why I was there. I explained to here I had an anal fissure and hopefully the Dr could give me some advice on how to treat it. I saw her writing this down and suddenly she got stumped. Stopped writing and had a blank look on her face. OK, I realize the spelling of "Fissure" may have caused her a problem so I spell it for her. She looks up and replies "How do you spell ANAL"? I knew right then I was in the wrong Dr's office and I sure was. He was no better. Did nothing for me and I never went back.

I had 2 terrible fissures at once a while ago. I used calmoseptine to try to protect the area but they would always break open when I used the bathroom. It was so frustrating. I couldn't do sitz baths often enough to get improvement from them. You're supposed to use really hot water for 15 minutes 2x a day. You should see if you can get a prescription for something - they are so painful.

I ended up having surgery on mine and it still bleeds where it was, although that was the best thing I did for myself. Ihad like a lump in the fissure, fricken hurt! Don't wait, don't band aid it with this and that see a rectal surgeon to get that healed up!
