OmG Joanna i don't believe it colon perforation?!! Oh no honey im so sorry to hear that, but look you are a fighter and a strong beautiful person and im sure this is going to turn out a blessing in disguise, i hope that once you are over the healing process you will look back and think im glad im over those days.
I'll keep you in my prayers sweety :)

Hi Banana girl,

I am looking forward to your future posts telling us how life is so much better minus your diseased colon, how nothing is getting in the way of living a full life and you wish you would have done it earlier.  I am rooting for you too.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. It seems like a nightmare now but in the end you are going to feel so much better and be able to live your life again UC free and put this all behind you.

That sucks, but why would she have to live life with a bag? She can just get a j-pouch in a few months' time and the chances of that failing are close to zero per cent these days.

Just keep you mind focused on what it'll be like after the surgery: no more need for any uc medications or supplements, no more restriction on what you can and cannot eat, no more iron infusions, and most of all freedom from worrying about bad days caused by uc!

I think this can be talked about after surgery. For now she needs to be save.

Joanna, no more UC pain after this, you will be happy and I hear so many people say "why didn't I do this long ago" you will be live life to the fullest! My prayers and thoughts are with you and Thank you for letting your sister keep us updated. I feel I know you, even though we've never met. Hugs and smiles and more hugs and bigger smiles I'm sending your way!

Hang in there!  Just think about how soon you will no longer have pain and things will only continue to get better from now on. Just think, no wondering when your UC may flare-up, no planning your life around what you may or may not be able to do due to your illness.  You can do whatever you want now, no limits!  You may even be able to eat things you never could eat before. :)  You will be on your way to a better life very soon!  Keep us posted on your recovery (and now you know for sure you WILL have recovery!)

I was very against having surgery but had no choice in the end. I was terrified too, but it's now been over a year since my takedown and I feel great. It's so good to have my life back again and hopefully it will be the same for you.
