Update on solution to my flare up

Anyone else tried this herb? I've never heard of it.

    The herb from CCHerbal contains Indigo naturalis, Skullcap root and Costus root.  Indigo is basis of

the clinical trial drug Natura-alpha, which has a 95% remission rate after only 28 days.  It also is being

said that the remissions should last up to 2 years without taking any other meds.  Do a search for my

previous topic "CCHerbal and Natura Alpha" where I have posted a lot of detail.

I started seeing results after only 3 days.  I had been so sick I felt ' what the heck, it can't make me

any worst than I am', so I tried it.  In three days the blood stopped.  After 7 days the 'D' started

to stop and became infrequent.  After 10 days no more 'D' and after 14 days my stools were no

longer loose.  I then began to eat better and more with very little problems.  And after three weeks

I started what I call a normal diet of foods and dairy without any complications.  I have proceeded

to eat almost every kind of food and drink except for alcohol and very limited amounts of any

carbonated fluids.  I am eating fruits, small amounts of nuts and normal recommeded amounts

of dairy and vegetables.  I was taking 4 Apriso and 3 entocort, after about a week I cut back the

Apriso to 2 and the entocort to 1.  I also no longer needed to have IVs with antibiotics and for

fluids and nurishment every day.

     I searched this forum for herbs initially and found everyone who had tried it had positive

results.  After much soul searching and research on the herbs, I was very reluctant to try it.

But like I said, I just couldn't see where it would make me any sicker than I was. 

    I'm not saying it will work for everyone, but it is worth a try.  Start out with one pill then

after you know you tolerate it go to 2 pills and so forth.  If you feel better try cutting back

on the other meds a little at a time.  You may still have to them but maybe not as many.

After seeing my IM doctor in 2 weeks I hope to stop the steroid all together and try not

taking the Apriso also.  I hate taking drugs all the time.  It just isn't good for your body.

     I hope this answers your questions.  But do search this forum for CCHerbal and do

research the ingrediants, then make your decision.

I have been on the website and seen the blurb about how good they are, i dont really trust anything i read as there are so many scams, but now hearing you are tried and tested i am prepared to give it a shot and hopefully it can help me out like it has you.

I am currently on a low dose of pred and feeling good so i dont think i will rock the boat as of yet but if i feel my self going into a flare in the future i will give it a try,

Yeah, another member, Scarecrow, had very good results w/ this herb. It is tempting.....

Indigo Naturalis(Qing Dai) is the key ingredient of CCHerbal.
There are some clinical reports about Indigo Naturalis(Qing Dai) and it's also pretty common medication for UC in China and Japan.

I am taking Indigo Naturalis power 2g per day and it actully works.

And there is some other herbal capsule or pills for UC that contains Indigo Naturalis(Qing Dai), such as Fufangkushen, CSCC.

Thank you for sharing your experience @Mensa Man, this herb sounds very promising and is something I plan to order today and try. Long time reader but first time poster here. Diagonosed in 2011 with ulcerative colitis. Took asacol pills 4X/day and canasa supposititories on/off since then. Stopped taking those 3 months ago as I was not seeing results and battling a long flare and wanted to find alternatives. Currently taking: vitamineral green superfood powder & inflamma-GI powder each morning with pill form probiotics & fish oil at breakfast and lunch. Still have d and urgency issues but less blood. Also extremely restrictive diet: no lactose, grains, sugar, eggs, nightshades, beans (essentially paleo but no eggs or nightshades). Was taking triphala pills but stopped since I thought maybe those were contributing to d. Will order and start taking the CCHerbal and post update in a few weeks. Thank you again for sharing, I really hope this may be the answer to help turn the corner fully!

Today I saw my GI specialist and was given an official OK to stop the entocort and to cut back on the apriso.

He was still not convinced that taking the CCHerbal pills was a good idea but had to admit somehow it was

working for me.  They did a mini physical and everything was great.  He did warn me to be aware of classic

sysptoms of liver problems.  I agreed and told him I was already doing that.  My checkup and tests were so

good he said he wouldn't need to see me for a year unless I got bad again.  Then he said something I really

did not expect.  He said even though we had our disagreements on alternative meds he really appreciated

the fact that I was so honest with him.  That I didn't keep my feelings about treatments and meds inside.

I had never thought about his personal feelings about his patients willingness to be honest about all the

things they keep to themselves.  Maybe these guys are human after all.

I'm not sure if the contents were the same, Indigo naturalis, Skullcap root and Costus root, but I took a Chinese Remedy. It was a ground up powder to be mixed with water, to take once a day for 6 days. It looked like mud and tasted of burnt charcoal. I took it for 1 day, and the next day, I had bad diarrhea and a burning feeling, so decided to stop it, especially as I had just come out of a flare and didn't want to mess things up.. The diarrhea stopped the next day, and my colon seemed very calm for a few days after. Maybe it was working??

Wow...  JohnPhx if you do a search for this herb you will find others who are having success.  That is how I

found out about CCHerbal.  Check Plumsmom's posts and you will find she has had similar results.  I have

always stated that these herbs might not work on everyone and to do carefull research before making any

decision.  Also, make sure you tell your Doctor.  As far as telling something real, all I can do is tell the

truth about my journey.  You have to admit UC is a terrible disease both physically and emotionally.  I

would never have survived without my strong Christian faith.  I have no idea why my UC flared up and

neither does my GI specialist.  I know that it has made me a more compassionate and understanding person.

I went to school in a small farm town on a Native-American reservation.  I grew up on a farm in the Midwest.

My mother taught school till she was 71 years old.  My brother was killed in a car accident the day before

he graduated HS while I was serving my country in the Army during Viet Nam.  I have  more history of

my life than anyone would care to know and I would care to talk about as I'm sure many others have.

And yes, I do swear once in while.  Now, tell me how this personal info, that has nothing to do with UC,

helps anyone get better or gives someone, suffering with this awful disease, hope?  I have been thru Hell

this past year+ and never want to go back there again.  And yes I am excited about sharing what helped

me overcome my flare as anyone would, whether it be a new diet, medication or whatever.  That is what

this forum is all about, isn't it?  People sharing what has helped them and hurt them.  And JohnPhx, I hope

you find something that works for you and that you will share it with all of us.  Prayers be with you. 

 @ Penang, I don't know if I will need to take the herbs for an extended period of time.  Right now I am going

to see how not taking the entocort is going to effect me.  If I stay in remission for another month or two I

think I will start taking the herbs every other day.  Then, if I do not have any ill effects, I will start doing

every two days and so forth until I stop all together.  My goal is to take as little as possible and still stay

in remission.  I believe all meds have good and bad sides to them.  That's why this Natura-Alpha drug

would be great if it gets FDA approval.  Take it for 28 days and then no meds for possibly a long period

of time. 

I'm gonna try this if Imuran fails me.

Quick question to MensaMan and plumsmom: What's your current dose? Three pills a day?
