Wether i ve ulcerative colitis or going to get it

Recently had sigmoidoscopy and biopsy results shows chronic non specific proctitis.no diarrhea,no blood, no mucus in stool.only pain during defecation.sigmoidoscopy show red friable mucosa of rectum.so did i have ulcerative proctitis.will i get symptoms later.diagnosed 4 months earlier.never have diarrhea or blood.currently experiencing sevre bloating and lot of gas.please anyone help!

Man, I wish people would ditch their phones and use a computer. Sorry about the comment. Anyway, you say your were diagnosed 4 months ago - what were you diagnosed with? Did the docs prescribe any meds?

If you don't treat what you have going on now yes you could develop worse symptoms and your proctitis could start moving its way upward. I have proctitis and for me when I start getting a lot of gas and feeling bloated I know I need to increase my rectal meds. Hope your doctor has put you on some.

I ve been to 3 gastros including a surgeon in past 4 months.all were confused because of no symptoms.finally one decided to give me mesacol suppository,librax,probiotics.mesacol once at night.rest two times a day

So you are taking drugs for something that you haven't even been diagnosed for? Why?

Can you clarify some things for us, it's a little confusing.

What is your official diagnosis?

How long are you on the meds?

Is it helping at all?

Actually on 13 june 2013 my rectal biopsies were taken and report says:mucosa shows no significant architectural distortion or mucin depletion.lamina propria shows lymphoplasmacytic cell infiltrate.no crypt seen.negative for dysplasia.diagnoses(mild chronic non specific proctitis)

This is gonna sound wonky but maybe have you tried using the squatting position for defecation ( like using Lillipad squatting platform with western toilets)? Because maybe your main issue is that the anal canal is becoming irritated from hard stools rubbing against it. I dunno i just think it's worth a try for a while and see if it helps.

i actually wanna know what i have.i ve stool examination for 3 times but show no blood, no mucus,no pus cells,no rbc.i just wanna know wether this is pre initial stage of UC.wether i ll get UC later????please guide me.i m really depressed.

You'll have to ask the doctors...don't know how we'd be able to tell you one way or the other.

UC is usually a diagnosis of elimination process. If you've been checked for all other possibilities and nothing comes true, then it's possible you have UC.

If you do have inflammation at this point, then you'd be best to use the supps.

Why were you sent to a surgeon in the first place?
