The TSO whipworms do cost a lot, I ordered a total of 10 flasks high dosage TSO 2500 @ 300 EUR a piece and 5 bottles of low dosage TSO 500 @ 150 EUR a piece so in total I spent 3750 EUR. But my current insurance does not cover my UC yet so I have to pay all meds out of pocket in any case.

I have taken all TSO 2500 and two of the TSO 500 (for maintenance) so I am in my 12th week now.

With a few ups and downs I stopped taking anything to control my diarrhea about 4 weeks ago and I am 95% back to normal.
I am travelling a lot (mostly in Asia) so I assume I caught one or two stomach bugs on the way which set me back in between.
I started taking Salazapyrin some 4 month ago as well, but my gut feeling is the improvement is due to the TSO. Just to mention there is another great forum for Crohns and UC:

FWIW the latest double blind study, results to be released later this year, uses 7500 eggs per dose rather than the 2500 that has been standard for years.

It will be interesting to see if this makes a difference. years back I tried TSO and got no benefit at 2500/2 weeks but got some mild dampening of symptoms at 2500/week i e double dose, which was still only 2/3 of what this latest study is using. (incidentalky on human hookworm and human whipworm I got no benefit and all, only got worse symptoms). Unless this stuff is covered by insurance though it is vitually worthless to all but the very wealthy as a long term treatment.

Are you by any chance an Indian living in Europe? Sulfasalazine medication that you mentioned is an Indian brand (not necessarily available ONLY in India) but I am curious, Plus you travel to Asia a lot..

Thanks for the update. Actually, Salazapyrin is darn good drug. I went on it and in just a week, it fixed everything. What dose are you on, I am 1.5gm/day I was scheduled for TSO trial but the investigator was little dilly dally so I decided to go on meds directly.

It will be great if you could post, where you got these TSO from?

AIT has TSO worms. I think OvaMed sells TTO. Human vs. Pig. Human is more dangerous I believe but more effective. AIT has an active yahoo group. It's very expensive I think.

I am German, but lived long time overseas. I can get the Salazopyrin in Hong Kong over the counter. The TSO are expensive, but in comparison to the cost of immune suppressors the cost is actually low. I take 4 tabs Salazopyrin a day so it adds up to 2gm.
I experimented some years ago and found above 4gm / day I start getting some skin rashes..
