Articles on best anti-inflammatory supplements

Here are two articles I found while googling best anti-inflammatory supplements...Just wondering your thoughts on which you think are best for UC. I know some are common on this forum, but I only take black cherry and fish oil. I also had someone tell me yesterday that a certain type of CACTUS JUICE is powerful..any experiences? Brand recommendations for any of these listed? I've had a mild flare and have definitely controlled it with black cherry the last few weeks. I had a stressful day yesterday, which made it more "moderate" this morning, but I'm pretty sure I would be in a severe flare by now if it were not for the black cherry. I know not everyone feels the way I do, but I am very anti-meds which I feel like has helped me tremendously over the years, because my first flare ever was very very severe...now I'm in full remission most of the time and only deal with small flares...so I respect your opinions, but really want to hear success stories with any of these..thank you!

Yep I'll take natural remedies with little to no side effects over any steroid. Not much harm in a fruit juice, and for me it has been just as effective as most meds I have taken.

well, I can't begin to tell you who to trust and who not, but no, I do not trust anything the government tells me - and the fda ? hah !

People can't sue supplement companies. Their products say right on the bottle results aren't guaranteed.

Good point..I just like to learn all I can about them, and I feel that health food stores would not be successful or carry these products if they did not sell consistently. They carry them because people use them over and over, not just once. I shop mostly by customer reviews on products--not what the company claims. I also find WebMD helpful on their take on individual supplements. I don't see where it would be very beneficial to the FDA to spend a lot of money researching supplements, when they can't really tell companies to stop selling them unless they are a danger.

It's not only to prove they are safe but also to prove they work. You think its fair for a company to sell you a pill that says it can help your UC when its really just a sugar pill? These companies make millions on products that have no scientific evidence what-so-ever.

Supplements are usually benign unless we are talking about the herbal ones. At worst, you are getting a sugar pill and at best you are getting something that works. To me, it's a no brainer - I'd rather take my chances on cherry extract than antibiotics that have a track record of crippling people.

It's the medicines that are insidious and wrecking havoc. Adverse medical deaths are the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and we're talking about preventable deaths here. All because pill happy doctors are too stupid to make proper diagnosis.
