I was talking with a nurse in the hospital recently. She told me there is a research lab that has developed a cure based on genetic research. They don't have a way to deploy this solution. It could be a very long time before that component is developed.
I just wanted to read more about
this and find out which lab is doing the work. I should have asked more questions of the nurse when I saw her. I'll be sure to do so if I see her again while I'm here and I'll post it.
Does anyone know where this is being done? I'd like to learn more about
it.
Much thanks,
Matt

It seems like there was a girl up in Canada that went through some genetic thing and it worked on her. I'm pretty sure I read that in a post here and there was a link to a video about
it. Darned if I know how to find it for you though. Maybe someone else will remember something about
it and be able to find it.

I'd love to hear more about
this. I'd spend every last dollar I have on a cure for this thing. . .

I think you are referring to Site Specific Immunotherapy which is being trialed in Qu Biologics in Canada.
It is very interesting - rather than the current crude method that IBD meds follow of suppressing the immune system, SSI therapy aims to stimulate the body's innate immune system to address the underlying cause of IBD.
It's in the very early stages but look promising.

Wow! This QuBiologics study is cool stuff. I actually live about
8 hours from Vancouver, BC. However, I'm in the US (in WA state). Do they only accept Canadians for the studies, or can Americans get in too?

I'm in Vancouver, WA. That's at the southern end on the border of Oregon.

Zooman - I see that you tried whipworm. I am about
to try that. Do you mind telling me your story on whipworm as I am assuming it didn't work for you? My email is

Apparently there is a waiting list for the potential UC study that may take place in the not so distant future and also I hear they may have figured out a way to allow non-Canadians to participate as well.

How long is the wait list? Can anyone take it when they don't live in Montreal, but in Ontario?

I'm not sure how this site feels about
redirecting traffic, but I'm talking about
a Crohn's forum not a UC one:
There is a long thread at Crohnsforum.com under the treatment section about
this treatment. The PR rep for the company answers questions there and the developer of the treatment himself, Hal Gunn, has an account and has some posts with information and links on the thread also.
I won't link it direct but it shouldn't be too hard to find with a search.
