Help! Clindamycin cream, UC flare, Trying to get pregnant

Hi all!  I've referred to this board several times for UC answers and have always found it very informative, although I've never posted.  Now I need your opinion/advice!  During my last 2 paps, I was told I have clue cells which ultimately showed I had BV.  Since it was asymptomatic, I chose not to treat it after reading the numerous precautions regarding Clindamycin and UC flares.  Now that I am trying to get pregnant for the first time, I've been informed that BV can cause miscarriage or low birth weight/pre term labor.  Has anyone had experience with using this vaginal cream and has UC?  I am pretty much in remission and DO NOT want to flare it up, but don't want any pregnancy complications either once I do conceive.  I've been reassured by both my GYN and GI docs that it is safe in cream form, but have read otherwise on the precaution list and online.

I dont know anything about the cream but if you can wait until you've been in remission for a few months with a good mantainance regime before getting pregnant that will go along way in preventing flare ups.....

Sucks having to wait but in the long run well worth it, if you can.
