How many BM per day when you are in the middle of a flare?

Hi all, I am just wondering what others are like when in the middle of a flare? Mine is around 10-15 times and it is really killing me! Not to mention that I have to work as well!

At my worst??? I don't even know that I call it BM more like little squirts of blood and mucus and I don't think I could even count, it would have to be at least where you are at... probably more.

At my worst I was going 12-20 times in a 24 hour period. Although, I really start loosing count when it get's that high!

This was one of the worst flares I've had, but I always get uncontrollable nausea before it gets to be too many times--maybe up to 10 on my worst day

15-20. I was also working full time and had a baby. You figure out how to make it work.

I'm in the 10 - 15 range but have always been in the middle of a flare since diagnosis 3 years ago. What's it like not to be in a flare?

I'm starting to forget. Like someone else said, not all my trips to the toilet produce much. Sometimes its just gas but I still sit on the toilet just to make sure. I average 8 trips.

Dozens of trips per day to the bathroom at worst, most of which are an urgent blood/mucous purge.

2-3 in remission
3-4 even in a flare with severe inflammation flare.

I've always wondered why I don't deviate much in that area even with severely inflamed areas.

My main symptom while flaring is turning the bowl completely red everything bowel movement.

Worst has been 25-30x a day. I get so tired from pooping that i just lay in the bathroom. Both these experiences landed me in the hospital.

When I first was diagnosed with UC a year ago my BM's were around 20 a day. Worst my flares have been since then is 3 a day.

My worst was 25-30 a day. I also was working full time, caring for my dogs and keeping up with the house as much as I could. I wore Depends pretty much all the time for over a month. It's NO way to live, but somehow we figure out how to make it work.

This. I stopped counting but it was every 45 minutes, 24 hours a day. I was NOT working (or leaving the house, ever).

Thanks everybody for all the feedback. I have always worried that my BM per day is a bit high, at least now I know that my trips to the bathroom per day is just among the average.

Yeah, for flaring that's really not too terrible. However, if you've been flaring for a while, you should consider changing your meds. I'd especially encourage you to try mesalamine enemas.

I was going constantly. I would go, then literally right after pulling up my pants and walking out of the bathroom, I would have to go AGAIN and it was urgent. I would sometimes go through that 4 or 5 times before I was able to relax for a bit. I also wouldn't sleep through the night without getting up to go, sometimes once but other times i woudl have the situation above where i was in and out of the bathroom many times. I was working a flexible job at the time so I wasn't that bad in that way but it was still difficult to focus when i was in the bathroom 30x a day. I never counted but it had to be that many.

At my worst about 10-15 times a day (Primarily early in the morning and after eating). Urgency and absolutely no ability to hold it in. Not a lot of blood, just the frequency and increase in mucus.
