I just joined this forum today so hopefully you all can help me! I was diagnosed with UC a year ago. A couple weeks ago I started noticing blood on the toilet paper when I wiped, so I panicked and called my doc. He put me on suppositories for 10 days, but since then the bleeding has gotten worse. I didn't have the urgency to go before but sometimes I do now--usually right away in the morning. I'm supposed to call him back in 10 days, it has been 5 days. So my question is, do using suppositories make the bleeding of hemmoroids worse before it gets better or does it sound like a flare up of UC? I don't have the cramping or pain in my stomach. Or do I just need to get more exercise? I usually walk a couple miles every day when I walk my dog.
I also would like to know what kind of diet you all are on. My doc said I have no restrictions, I can eat anything I want, but are there any foods that trigger this? I have such a sweet tooth, that is my biggest downfall. But if I knew that could make this worse I could stop eating so many sweets. I don't know anyone personally who has this same type of problem so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
