Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I have Severe Colitis as well as a whole host of other health problems. I came here to learn from others who have this as well as maybe lend a little help and comfort myself. I am not new to this disease. I've had IBS since I was a child and have suffered greatly with Colitis since 2011.
I now use the bathroom 7+ hours a day straight as in no getting up besides to get something to drink or eat. So I pretty much have no life obviously and no job. I have been lax in going to the doctor because the laxatives I took to do the Colonoscopy (I think that is the right way to spell it) took me from three hours to 6 hours in about a month. My problem started in May of 2011, went to do the procedure in October and by early December, I was up to four hours twice a day.
I finally just started staying in the bathroom instead of leaving at four hours and stayed that way for 6 hours until recently when my problem worsened. So I went back to the doctor and he has me on Lialda (4 tablets a day).
In ending this post, I was wondering if anyone out there used the bathroom this much each day. If so, what advice can you give to me that has made your life better or easier?
Either way, hello to all, and I look forward to hearing from all of you about your individual problems. May God Bless each of you.
