I have not had a full blown flare in quite some time...and then "boom" a few weeks ago it started! I am so happy I can come to this community and get the support, knowledge and guidance from all of you I so desperately need.
Just a note of thanks

Poor thing. I dread the day I am having that situation but I know it's probably sooner than later. :( Please feel free to vent and ask for advice. Hopefully you're back on track before things get worse.

That's my last favorite part of UC. Feeling like a puppet that ALMOST has complete control... but can be yanked around with no notice.

Laura,
Maybe you should up your Lialda dose to the standard 4.8 (4 pills per day), and get on the rowasa and canasa. I waited too long to take action with my last/latest flair and I think that caused it to get worse than it might have had I been more proactive in battling it. Good luck!

so what are you doing to deal with your flare...? hopefully, rectal meds are added to your regimen.
And, you're welcome for that suggestion x2.

Canasa has been started...what worries me is there comes a time my medicine stops being effective and we switch it..I have an appointment in a few weeks, but think there needs to be a change. I will suggest going to 4 lialda.
Thanks as always!!

Be proactive. One of the worst mistakes I made during this flare was waiting too long thinking I could ride it out or manage it myself. Didn't work! Hopefully you get better soon, definitely discuss these things with your GI over the phone as well (appointments can seem so far away sometimes!).
But like everyone suggested: might need to raise the Lialda and get on the rectal meds! (Rowasa or generic mesalamine used to be my flare-up wonder drug and worked like a charm back in the day!)
