I had a very bad reaction to Asacol HD for the 3 days I was on it. Pain and bad D, and uncontrollable urgency which is not usually my symptoms when I'm flaring. Mostly Blood and Mucous and some D, but not like what happened the last few days.
My doc is giving me some samples of Apriso to try, but I am afraid the same thing is going to happen to me.
My sulfasalazine hasn't helped me lately. Has this happened to anyone else. I can handle the mesalamine in the Canasa enemas.

It might be OK, because the amount of mesalamine in Apriso (1.5 g at the max dose) is much lower than what's in Asacol HD (4.8 g at the max dose). However, I also wouldn't be surprised if you have a reaction to it.

The Apriso is less dosage with efficient distribution, so that could possibly be a huge plus for you.

The Canasa suppositories...how many a day do you use?

When are you using the VSL? Have you tried other probiotics?

The Metamucil you're using...which one exactly is it? If you're using one with artificial sweetener in it...it might be counterproductive for you.

Since you are having diarrhea, when was your last c-scope?

The VSL3 gave me diarrhea and I stopped using the Metamucil since my stomach has been so messed up. I guess I need to update my signature. I have been taking 1 Canasa in the morning and possibly at night if I can't take the Hydrocort enema. My last scope was about 1 1/2 years ago.

What was the result of the scope?

Maybe consider another fibre supplement such as the capsules.

The Reuteri probiotic could be a plus for you..

Have you had stool samples done.

I need to have a stool test and bloodwork done. The results of my last scope was UP. I won't have insurance until January so hopefully I can get caught up on everything.
