i was diagnosed with UC feb2013 after i quit smoking smoked for 20 years took chantex to quit also but i was going to toliet 40-50 times a day put me on steroid didn't work iv steroid worked little better ended up having first of 3 surgery april11 2013 i quit smoking then recovered from surgery in about 2 months at about 75% then started smoking again 3 months or so after finally felt 100% after 5 months or so then had 2nd survey nov 4 quit smoking again been 3 weeks since and it tough i have a s pouch cause int wouldn't stretch enough for a j pouch i been smoking again calms me down a bit anyone know if it can mess with the construction of pouch?they ended up doing a s pouch on me cause int would not stretch enough for j pouch. I am trying to quit my horrible habit

Do you have an actual question? Your post is very hard to read as it is mostly in textspeak with no sentences using periods. From what I was able to understand it looked like you were mostly just making a statement and not asking for any actual advice. Many smokers come down with UC in the process of quitting and often go back into remission by smoking again. That sucks but that's just the way it is. If it is possible maybe you could try just smoking two per day. Several have switched to Ecigs and some use nicotene patches. Are you with a GI and taking any meds? Most people on here are using real computers and aren't into texting each other via this forum. We don't communicate by textspeak.

Smoking slows healing. You'll probably still heal, it might take longer. There's a risk with j-pouch construction of developing a slow healing leak which can delay takedown by 6+ months, and you increase that risk by smoking.

I saw your question in your first post John...about if smoking can mess with your pouch...I personally don't know anyone that has a pouch and smokes has any issues as a result, I don't think it will be a problem but it wouldn't hurt to ask your doc about this.
