I assume the CMV test was routine per my long-term immune suppression. I don't remember it being done before, but this is a new hospital and pathologist. It appears to be endemic. I know I have HSV-1 and VZV, but so far I have not had major virus activation issues with the immunomodulators.

I have not worked on much on the antifungal path. Most of it is contraindicated with Remicade, and I've been trying to give the Rx as much space as I can this fall. I do eat coconut oil and I have a black walnut salve. I have a couple of irritating fungal issues associated with the Remicade.

If you are interested in Vedolizumab, you might want to consider the following clinical trial:

My daughter's gi doctor called this drug the "cousin" of Vedolizumab. I think it is called Vatelizumab.
They are recruiting for participants and there are 62 locations shown across the US so hopefully
there is something close to where you live. My daughter may be starting it in January so if you
have any questions please let me know.

I was told the same thing one month ago after my colonoscopy with a NEW GI doctor.

I argued got ASACOL HD more pred ( she failed uceris promise ) and most importantly returned to GP and now he has me in the driver seat with a letter covering his tail for handing me control.

I'm still surprised at how insensitive docs are! (Although mine is awesome) What an awful message to receive!

I couldn't read through all the posts. If you haven't tried vsl it's worth it & the arm and leg it costs:)

Quincy's formula for fiber really helped me.

And of course IVIG is something I'd advocate for.
