I just ate a
cookie. Because I was mad lol. DH got a big box of lovely
cookies from his family and I was like screw this...I'm not sick...it's just the c.diff....chomp, chomp.
I'm very scared of what the consequences may be later. But then...what if there are none? Then what will I do.
I must be hitting denial? There's a voice in my head saying....Hey...maybe its the c.diff only and the Lialda made it worse....because hey gave me antibiotics at the ER before testing anything else....there was no blood until the antibiotics. Just mucus blobs. Logically, mucus blobs still aren't right so something was wrong. But dang, atleast 80% of the time I felt fine and I could eat a salad! Take the gluten...who needs it! But I want a salad and some rice crackers.
Part of me is saying, hey when the flagyl is done, you will be fine....
I'm sure many people have been there and can knock some sense into me....
And yet, I look at the
cookie box still....and dream of just eating some stuffed celery....

I eat
cookies. And I ate
cookies when I was flaring.
Unless you have celiac disease or are intolerant to gluten (or some other ingredient in the
cookie), then there's not much of a reason not to enjoy a
cookie or two every now and then.

I eat
cookies too, on occasions in moderation. Doesn't bother me.

Well....I sheepishly admit I was still trying to do SCD foods even though I'm new to all this. I'm a big food as medicine kind of girl, and it looked promising. I guess trying to do it while so emotionally raw and at the holidays wasn't wise.
Though I guess in a few hours we will see what is wise and what is not lol.....

Oh man
cookies are my weakness! I almost cannot say no to
cookies and most of the time I don't. :)
I was at the doctors getting my first remicade infusion this week and they were offering me snacks and food to make me more comfortable and I turned it all down until they mentioned
cookies... Which I had some of.
I think it's fine in moderation... Just don't overdo the sugars and enjoy a
cookie.... We have to enjoy something sometimes right?

I also ate a
cookie today, as I did the day before, and the day before that one too! My DW usually has one treat for me, whether it is
cookies, brownies, cupcakes or a pie to eat. Sweets, after all, are my one true weakness.

You gotta let yourself splurge every once in a while. I would personally recommend if you do splurge on
cookies get the best you can get. I highly recommend the "Back to Nature" ones you can find at walmart. They are not overly prices and their ingredients are really good compared to other more popular
cookies and they...are...delicious!! =)

I love the lack of chastisement lol! And the sugar lovers. Funny thing is I usually take salty any day. And usually just make our own sweets without all the junk. I must just be feeling defiant lol.

I have a house FULL of
cookies! Of course they needed 'testing.' Then someone needed to clean up the 'broken' ones. Now there are some that 'won't fit' in the tins.

I eat
cookies. For many of us, the food myths are just that - myths. Whether I was at my worst flare or in remission, food doesn't trigger UC for me. I do have a little IBS and have to watch the high-fiber or fat foods, but that's always been there.
You never know what hurts you until you track your diet and symptoms over time.

You are not alone in your diet struggles, and the cravings tend to haunt the best of us. Caving in is inevitable at some point in time, especially if you have been following a strict diet such as the SCD. As someone who has recently started the Paleo Autoimmune protocol, giving up certain foods has been somewhat challenging. The main foods that I miss are
cookies and marshmallows, they were my snacks and my late night sins. The fact that my mother calls me the "
cookie monster" because of my addiction goes to show how much I miss indulging in a
cookie or two. Nonetheless, there is eating and then there is living, and these obstacles must be faced. Do not be discouraged to try different diets and lifestyles, nobody gets along without cheating ever so slightly once in a while before becoming more strict.
