"Failing medical therapy" and no insurance. Next step?

I have never been this sick for this long. It's been severe for 4 months now and I feel like no one cares how it is affecting me and my quality of life. My primary just kept telling me to go to the ER but last time I did that I was there for a week and was treated horribly and not helped at all. I finally paid out of pocket to go to the gastro who did my clinical trial and was told that I am failing medical the repairs but that the next steps are extremely expensive and he just sent me home with more meds. Including uceris which usually works to stop a flare but it had no affect. This was 2 months ago.
I am seeing a new gastro (which has taken 3 months to get a "10 minute" appointment) on January 15 who is within my county insurance and I'm putting all my bets on him. I think if he wants me to get tests or new therapies then it will be covered. I'm assuming my next move will be humeria or remicaid....or surgery. I have ever considered surgery in the 8+ years I've suffered but at this point it is a real thought.

I have bleeding and mucus daily, in the bathroom up to 20x a day. Afraid to leave house and if I have to I don't eat. Within the first month I had lost 22 pounds. I am also in a lot of pain all the time and the tramadol they give me no longer does anything.

Ideas or suggestions? I don't know what I should ask this new doc for.

If you are in the US you should immediately sign up for health insurance either directly with an insurance company or through the exchanges if you think you'd qualify for a financial subsidy.

Find a doctor you like and find an insurance plan that he accepts. You might also look into a surgeon to consult (ditto making sure he is in your plan).
I have actually called the doctors office and asked them what plans they accept but many have this info online and each insurance company usually has it online too.

Sometimes the hardest part is getting an appointment when you are a new patient. They usually have to set aside a longer appointment to get all your medical history.

Getting insurance will be cheaper than paying out of pocket.
If you are too poor for the ACA exchange but too "rich" for Medicaid that would be a problem. I've seen how some states make it impossible for some people to qualify for Medicaid. In that case if it were me I'd move to a state you'd get Medicaid because nothing can replace your health.

Call your county health services and ask to speak to a counselor (insurance counselor I mean).
Since you can't leave the house use your phone and internet to get the help you need.

Keep drinking chicken broth and eating whatever doesn't hurt.
PS When you get your 1st appointment be sure and request mesalamine enemas for bleeding (not suppositories) and get Bentyl for cramps or something stronger for the pain (Tramadol?).

Obamacare would be too expensive and I don't even have to pay the fee if I don't get it. I have county insurance but everything has to be referred from within the tampa general system of doctors and such. I don't think I have time to get new insurance and all that and find a dr then Have to wait months to get an appointment. I'm ready to give up now.

I thought the same about a longer first appointment too but I got this upcoming appointment at the start of my flare 4 months ago and it is only scheduled for 10 minutes.
