I may be able to participate in a randomized controlled trial of fecal transplantation and just wonder what others with UC think of this. I put my name in a while ago. The study is being done at a major teaching hospital that I have total faith in. I would be given the transplant enema once a week for 6 weeks, with testing at the beginning to see what bacteria is in my gut and testing at the end to compare. Not sure of all the details yet, I am still trying to make up my mind, but must let them know soon.
The thing is I may be heading for remission now. I have partially formed stool and no blood or mucus. However I still have abdominal pain and spasming. I just started to have maybe one or two good days out of a week, as far as abdominal pain/spasm go. I also know that next week I could be back into full flair, it is UC after all.
I know that only I can decide, but many people on this forum do a lot of research and I would like some input.
