Hi! I was diagnosed in May 2013 so this is all fairly new to me still. I have had nausea probably every morning since I got diagnosed, but it generally goes away after I get going, take my meds and eat.
However, on boxing day I had my first couple of drinks since I was diagnosed (thought I was fine, only had a couple and I have been doing fantastic since about November), but the next day I puked from about 5AM -10AM. By about 4 I felt way better and had dinner and everything (and was able to keep my meds down all day so that was good). The next day I felt great, but woke up in the middle of the night and got sick again (just once). Ever since then, I have gotten sick just about every single day. My doctor has prescribed me Zofran and is unsure as to what is causing it. Most of the nausea is in the morning, but I tried to go without a Zofran yesterday and puked by 9AM and felt lousy the rest of the day. Motion makes it so much worse, I can barely be a passenger in a car for longer than 15 minutes and I feel sick - note, I have never been motion sick in my life, don't get car sick, love the roller coaster scene haha.
Anybody have any suggestions? My guess is that I ate a lot of rich foods over the holidays and then the drinking didn't help and so my body is just out of whack right now. However, I haven't had much diarrhea :/ (which is great haha) only did for a day or two a while ago but I'm not sure what that means if it's JUST nausea. Is it even UC related? When I get sick in the morning, it's before I've eaten anything. I end up just throwing up stomach acid.
The zofran works great, but even being in Canada, it's not covered and the generic stuff is costing me $200 for 60, so I've been buying them about 6 at a time. I'd like to just not be nauseous though, not just cover it up! (My dr has filled out a special authority form though so I can try getting it for free).
My main concern is sometimes I'm waking up in the night and get sick, and I'm throwing up my Asacol (I take 12 tablets a day, 3, 4 times a day). I can't keep track of how much I'm losing because sometimes I've puked up more than three (which means the Asacol I've taken at 7PM is still sitting in my stomach at 1AM).
Sorry for the long post .. haha. Thank you anyone for your help or suggestions!
