I had c diff in early October. I have had an increase in d lately. Anyway to tell if it is UC or cdiff? Would my tests still be positive now?

I've had c.diff a couple of times and I noticed my cdiff symptoms were very similar to my UC symptoms except that they came on faster and I had even more bloating/gas. As far as the test, yes if you have it again then it should come back as positive again. Since you're prone to it now they might just have you run a course of flagyl without testing.

After my C-Diff was "cured" I still had the same symptoms. I would go get tested and if it comes back positive they can get you on medication.

Anytime they treat you for C-Diff you should be rechecked to make sure the treatment plan actually worked completely instead of just saying, "Oh, you're better now". I think very few places do this which, in my opinion, is pretty stupid. They just wait for you to get worse and then start from scratch all over again. I would get retested.

Speaking of that, I got tested 3 times after my FMT and all were negative, but I should probably get tested again since it's been another month.

I just got diagnosed and started medicine on Sat. I am feeling better and thought my D was going away, but it's been 3 days on medicine and although it's better it's still there. I haven't had a formed stool yet and still going 7-8x per day. When will it get better??

Whenever I took C-Diff medicine (vanco or Dificid) I felt perfect and had 1 or less bowel movements per day. Within a few days after stopping medication it would come back. What medication are you taking?

Flagyl. I'm thinking maybe it's a flare and c diff since my stool sample did come back positive.

My doc is going on vacation on wed so if I have an issue I want to try and call her about it before she leaves. Think it's worth the phone call?

my GI doc says after your first antibiotic course for c diff, you can still test positive up to 60 days after even if you aren't having symptoms. it doesn't mean you have an active c diff infection, but that it is still present in your gut.

since you are having symptoms, it could be either UC or c diff. it's hard for me to distinguish between the two and i've had c diff three times. the symptoms are very similar. my "give away" is the insanely high fever- 103 F where i can't even stand and i hallucinate.
